SEACON partners with AHOY watersports charity

May 2019

SEACON is very proud to announce our exciting partnership with The AHOY Centre Charity - a watersports based charity changing lives and building life skills through sailing and rowing.

This 5-year partnership will see SEACON Group fund the pathway of an apprentice giving them the opportunity to achieve their NVQ in Activity leadership, and importantly better their life in preparation for their future.

Seacon Chairman James Roth says "We have seen at first hand the great work that Ahoy are doing in introducing children, some from very disadvantaged backgrounds, to sailing and rowing activities on the river. This helps the children acquire new skills and grow in confidence, which can make such a difference in their life chances. As a fellow member of the river community, we are proud to support Ahoy."

Partnerships like this are instrumental to the future success of AHOY participants as it will provide vital funding and support for future apprentices, shipmates, sailability students and more.

"We are passionate about helping people to succeed and for our young people to secure futures and careers they can be proud of. Thanks to the support from The SEACON Group, we can continue to help the disadvantaged & vulnerable young people who just need a chance in life. We’re very excited to be working with SEACON and look forward to welcoming many of their staff to AHOY to meet the students who will be benefiting from their support. And of course putting their sail to use during our regular sailing activities on the Thames." Clive Ongley MBE, AHOYS Founder & CEO
